Juneteenth. The organizers of the 2022 MES Workshop would like to acknowledge that we made an oversight in scheduling the workshop to start on Monday, June 20, the observed federal holiday in honor of Juneteenth. Juneteenth celebrates the effective end of slavery in the United States, an occasion for all Americans to celebrate.  We apologize for this oversight, and we encourage everyone to learn more about Juneteenth.

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2022 MES Workshop and made it a success!

About

Lightning Talks

Lightning Talks are 5-minute presentations on research conducted by the MES Community. These talks should include:

  1. Motivation – why is this an interesting and important problem

  2. Fit within MES

  3. Methods and (possibly prospective) results

A Poster Session will follow the Lightning Talks where presenters will have the opportunity for more intimate conversations with the MES community and those in attendance.

Program Committee

The selection of submitted presentation proposals is directed and made by the MES Workshop Program Committee, which includes

  • Erin Baker, University of Massachusetts, Amherst

  • Sauleh Siddiqui, American University, Washington DC

  • Ben Leibowicz, University of Texas at Austin

  • Elisabeth Graffey, PNNL

  • Jacques de Chalendar, Stanford University

  • Alison Ong, Stanford University

  • Jason Hirschey, Georgia Tech

Macro-Energy Systems is an emergent field and research community that focuses on large-scale, systems-level, long-term aspects of energy systems and their implications for the environment, economy, and human wellbeing.

MES Workshops are the pinnacle opportunity for the community to converge, discuss research advancements and insights, connect, and plan the future of the community and field.
